The successful repetition of the experience of confirmation, which in medical and patristic science is cure, is the truth of every science.
Just as it is absurd to say that one who does not cure and does not know how to cure is a physician, so it is senseless to regard as a theologian one who is not at least in the state of illumination, who does not know what illumination and deification are, and who does not know how these things are achieved and therefore does not cure.
