My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? – Photo Journal from Great Friday

When Jesus is on the cross, he cries to God, “Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani?” (My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?)

Because, in that very moment, he took on the entire sin of mankind and, as a human, experienced for the first time in his life separation from God.

Nobody can say this. Every one of us can only say “My God, my God why I forsake You?”. Only He, being without sin, can ask, “Why have you forsaken me?” because he didn’t made anything which would imply the experience of hell which is the result of sin.

He didn’t doubt God because He himself is also God–He just completely despised the filth of the sin which came upon him like an immense stream of gross existential rotting garbage coming upon his pure existence.

In these photos we see candid shots from the services serviced in Great Friday.
