God can be truly known only through the Grace of the Holy Spirit. This is because real knowledge of God is not intellectual but experiential: becoming like Him and uniting with Him as much as we can. That’s why the degree of true knowledge stems from the degree of love: the more perfect the love, the more perfect your knowledge will be.
