Before our spiritual baptism, we’re enslaved by the evil one as a result of the Fall of Adam and Eve and we’re subject to demonic influences. After baptism and re-birth, the evil one is driven away, and we’re filled with the Grace of Christ. This is why in the Orthodox Church everyone is baptized in infancy.

Prior to man' spiritual baptism, he is enslaved by the evil one as a result of the Fall of Adam and Eve and subject to demonic influences. After his baptism and re-birth, the evil one is driven away, and man is filled by the grace of Christ. This is why in the Orthodox Church eveyone is baptized from infancy and subsequently their face shines and a great sense of joy overcome the baptized person.
