If you are truly interested in the welfare of your children, why do you not watch as strictly, but once a week, how they attend to their lessons in the study of the Law of God, as you do in some home-work, which the children seemed to be forced to have prepared within the next twelve hours for their public school?

Elder Joseph of Vatopaidi (+2009) was a very pious monk and we honor his memory each year with much devotion and dedication. During confession, especially one’s first confession – it is much better to list the sins in front of the priest – that is in front of God – and to seek His forgiveness in order to show your repentance.

It is a great good to give oneself over to the Divine will. Then the Lord alone occupies the soul. No thought can enter in, and the soul prays undistracted to God and is full of love for God, even though the body may be suffering.
In the time of war, the real heroes are glorified by God. However, the unknown heroes have a special glory from the Heavenly King because besides their bravery they have the crown of humility. That’s why at the end of time, we will have a lot of surprises about who will be in Heaven and who in Hell …and justice for all.
The sign of a person that loves wisdom is that he always gives thanks to God. If you have suffered evil,
