Be like a king in your heart through grace-given mourning

Be like a king in your heart, seated high in humility, and commanding laughter: Go, and it goes; and sweet weeping: Come, and it comes; and our tyrant and slave, the body: Do this, and it does it.
Only the one who is clothed in blessed and grace-given mourning as in a wedding garment knows the spiritual laughter of the soul.

So, watchfulness helps give control of heart, mind, body? But then, tears are necessary for laughter of the soul – because we have then certainly given ALL to God, put everything in His hands?
Ioan Toma
WRT watchfulness – yes. WRT tears – …hmmm… well… yes – however tears are an effect not a cause. The cause(s) is mourning for our own sins and – as you say – perfect obedience to God’s will. Besides that, there are characters which do not have tears. However everybody can spiritually mourn his own dead soul waiting for his resurrection.
