God’s commandments are beyond human limits

We can see the limits to all human “perfections” but God’s commandments are beyond that because God’s commandments are existential in nature and have as their main target our deification.
God’s commandments aren’t an expression of a boss to the His subordinates. They are the expression of perfect, divine love for us.
God doesn’t gain anything if we keep the commandments or not. We have to gain our eternal happiness… …or not.

Thank you for this very wise reflection on the love of God. So many of us forget that the ultimate aim of God`s judgement is to bring us towards perfection in Him. If we see Him simply as a judge, in the legal and juridical sense, then we miss the essence of His nature. Judgement without love (hatred) put the God-Man on the Cross, but judgement with love gives us our crosses to bear, only as a means of bringing us ever closer to deification.

Good point. The letter of law kills. However we want to make laws for the others rather than love them
