Post's featued image.

Some undertake a particular duty, but for a brother’s peace of mind, at his request they leave it; and some leave their work through laziness; and some do not leave it out of vainglory; and some do not leave it out of zeal.

Faith and determination can make wonders. Just start small: gather the garbage, fix the floor, the walls, the windows, the ceiling and in the end you will have a beautiful cell to live in!

Based on Saint John of the Ladder

In these photos you can see how workers build the Cell of St. Joseph of Timisoara – you can donate for its reconstruction here.

And, (The Ladder Step 28;40) ‘What is obtained by frequent and prolonged prayer is lasting.’ Starting small today with my tasks … 🙂

And this is the same answer when reading what the giants of asceticism achieve – they have said what they do is ‘easy,’ because they are becoming more ascetic only a little bit at a time and have worked over many years – perhaps except for Paul the Simple, who achieved much in a short period of time. Perhaps he was prepared for it. Blessings.

Oh, sure. St. Paul the Simple was quite prepared before. It isn’t a small feat to behave with your wife in the way in which he behaved. Also he was/is a rare case. See the links below:
