To be merciful means to be “unjust”

In order to render justice to all, you must be very strict with yourself and very merciful to others.
Merciful means to be “unjust” sometimes, but keeping yourself in the frame of the law – however not in your favour but in favour of others. Do not say that the law will not allow you to be “unjust” in favour of others – if you really want to find opportunities, then you will .
In this photo is depicted a policeman from Mount Athos. We respect our police forces because through their job and personal spiritual struggle they succeed to keep a peaceful and pious environment on the Holy Mountain.

What a striking way of speaking this truth. “Merciful means to be unjust sometimes, but keeping yourself in the frame of the law – in favor for others.
The Lord exacts not the satisfaction of legal justice from us but treats us “unjustly” in that he offers mercy, healing, and a place next to him in lieu of the exile and punishment we deserve. This king fulfills the demands of justice for us. How do we stand with the Lord and do as he does?

^^ this. This shows how big is our fall. This shows how much insensible we are. This shows how much distorted we are: we know that this is how it should be. We know that we are wrong. However we do not care, nor we want to do something concrete to correct ourselves.
