Humility is a Divine property and the perfection of the Christian life. It is attained through obedience. He who is not obedient cannot attain humility. There are very few in the world today who have obedience.

I think of the humility of Mary when the archangel came to tell her that she would give birth to the Saviour. And humility led to obedience. Mother of God, pray that we may be obedient to your Son.

Thanks a lot for mentioning this! NOBODY can reach or (in fact) understand the humility of Mother of God. That’s why her life in general is cloaked in a very holy silence.

Be obedient to the one(s) which God validates in front of you: your spiritual father, spouse, boss, an Elder etc. Be obedient when they tell you the word of God. If you want you will recognize the word of God from their mouth, even if you disagree/dislike it. This is obedience: to press yourself to accept the word of God against your passions.
