How virtues are formed by prayer

Virtues are formed by prayer. Prayer preserves temperance. Prayer suppresses anger. Prayer prevents emotions of pride and envy. Prayer draws into the soul the Holy Spirit and raises man to Heaven.

The highest form of prayer is… to stand silently in awe before God.

Fire and water do not mix. Neither can you mix judgment of others with the desire to repent.

So, the silence is the cross on which we must crucify our ego.
