The feast of Saint Panteleimon: the feast of mercy (part 1: Vigil) – Photo Report

If at some time you show mercy to someone, mercy will be shown to you.
If you show compassion to one who is suffering (and of course, this is not a great deed) you will be numbered among the martyrs…
If you forgive one who has insulted you, then not only will all your sins be forgiven, but you will be a child of the Heavenly Father.
Saint Panteleimon, or Pantaleon, (which translates as “all-compassionate”) was such a man.
Based on Saint Moses of Optina
At the feast of Saint Panteleimon, Metropolitan Panteleimon of Veria was present. He wished to celebrate his name day at Vatopaidi.
The feast begins with a small procession to the Chapel of Saint Panteleimon. There is a miracle-working icon of the Saint in the chapel, which is brought to the main church for the feast.
At the beginning of Vespers in the main church, the metropolitan is on his throne while the choros (the corona chandelier) is set in motion. The precentor awaits his blessing to lead the choirs.
