How to Control and Know Yourself
Feb 20 2015
He who has become aware of his sins has controlled his tongue, but… a talkative person has not yet gotten to know himself as he should. The friend of silence draws near to God, and by secretly conversing with Him, is enlightened by God. The silence of Jesus put Pilate to shame, and by a man’s stillness vainglory is vanquished.

I would never be able to fully understand the works of this beloved Saint, however, I feel that silence can be a gift, or a curse. Without first knowing that I can strive forgiveness of my sins, from God, knowing my sins can lead to more sins because at that point, I was hating myself for my sinful nature, and not loving myself because Jesus my Lord, came to save sinners.
